Program Information
In the middle of nowhere, after 5 hours sailing up the Yenisei river, you will reach the paradise. A completely wild and remote place where only the wildlife lives. Altai ibex, Siberian roe deer, maral, muskox deer, bear, wolf,… and nobody else, only you, your tent, and your guide. The experience of your lifetime.
Sajan belongs to Altai range. Our hunting concession is in Krasnoyarsk Province -Russia-, located in a remote area where a big population of Altai Ibex lives. We need 2 hours by car and then 5 hours by boat to reach the hunting place, not so far from the Mongolian border.
Hunting is due by backpack, and the hunter must be ready to carry a light tent, sleeping bag, mattress and some food. Each 3-4 days the hunter and his guide will come back to the base camp to rest and take some supplies for the next hunting days, until you get your chosen species.
The base camp is a modern wood lodge with double cabins, living room, kitchen and sauna. We have an very good cook who will prepare for you delicious meals during your stay in the main camp. An English-speaking professional hunter from Pyrenean Outfitters will be with you during the entire trip. He will welcome you at the Moscow airport and will take care of all documents, transportation, translations and logistics to ensure the success of your hunting. We organize this hunting only in the end of August.
The Altai ibex is characterized by thick horns that can measures about 40 to 50 inches (100 to 115 cm). The winter fur of the Altai ibex, mixing white, light brown and chocolate colors, is the most beautiful coat of all sub-species of ibex. Maral size in the area is about 9 to 11 kgs, and Siberian roe deer population is very high, the shot is almost guaranteed. There are a lot of bears and wolves, it´s almost sure you will cross them during your hunt.
Hunting season
Hunting season starts in end of August and finishes end October. Each year we book the first 10 days of the season, between August 20th and 30th when it´s possible the combination of different species and the overnights with tents are still agreeable.

Trip plan
| Day 1: Flight to Abakan via Moscow, where our representative will met you and help with the custom clearance. Domestic flight to Abakan.
Day 2: Arrival to Abakan early in the morning. Wellcome and transportation by car to the Yerisei river. Then 5 hours by offshore boat. Arrival to base camp and testing rifles. Day 3 to 9: hunting Day 10: Transportation to Abakan. Overnight in hotel Day 11: Transfer to the Airport. Fly home. Our representative in Moscow will be in Sheremetyevo to help you with the transfer between flights. |
Lodging
| The base camp is a comfortable wood house with 5 double rooms, sauna, WC, kitchen, and dinning room. Some overnights in simple hunting cabins or tents. Hunters will be accompanied by a cook, professional guide from Pyrenean Outfitters, and local guides. |

| Guns and ammunition
Light rifles i 7 mm calibers are the most adapted for this hunting: 270 WSM, 7 mmRM, 300 WinMag, Wby and WSM are with bullets from 150 to 180 grains are a perfect choice. Sometimes, long range shots are required, it´s important to bring good scopes with ballistic turrets. |
